Ahh, February! If you’re a hopeless romantic, this month might be one of your faves. If you’re more on the cynical side (or realist? That’s debatable), the overwhelming red and pink EVERYTHING might serve as a reminder of the world’s obsession with #relationshipgoals. 

Either way, the "be my Valentine" craze is upon us.

But when you really think about it, Valentine’s Day is actually an amazing holiday despite its over-marketization. I mean, how much should we really complain about the increase of chocolate available to the public? Growing up in Mexico, we were taught that Valentine’s Day is named after St. Valentine, and its purpose is to celebrate both romantic and non-romantic love, highlighting the importance of loving other people.

This wholesome meaning of the holiday is right on point, since non-romantic love is the second biggest commandment in the Bible. Love changes everything. That is exactly why February could be a great opportunity to uphold LOVE in its purest form.
